I have endeavoured to transcribe all the headstones in the graveyard. Due to age and weathering some of the inscriptions are incomplete. The following headstone inscriptions were recorded prior to May 2013.

Notes: Matthew and his wife Mary are listed as retired grocers in the 1901 census residing at Baltic Avenue, Belfast. A Matthew Larmour, son of Alexander married Mary Mairs on 16 07 1852 at Magheragall Presbyterian Church. Mary was the daughter of John Mairs. Sara Larmor from 32 Alliance Avenue, Belfast is buried in grave J29 Belfast City Cemetery with a Jane Larmor from 36 Alliance Avenue, Belfast aged 84 years died 20 04 1941 and a Margaret Larmor from 36 Alliance Avenue, Belfast aged 75 years died 28 11 1938. His son Hugh Larmor, M.A. who died 12 Mar. 1882 aged 21 years. His wife Anna Wright who died 2 Feb 1890 aged 60 years. Notes: Hugh Larmour had a son called Alexander Larmour. He married Jane (nee Weir) c 1810 in Magheragall. Their children were Agnes born 01 09 1813, married Kernaghan, Elizabeth Larmour born 28 07 1815 died 15 09 1898, John Larmour born 18 12 1819 died 16 02 1848, Matthew Larmour born 19 03 1822 died 12 09 1901, Hugh larmour born 01 04 1824 died 02 04 1877, Angela Larmour born c1825 died N/K, Jane Larmour born 20 05 1828 died 10 05 1898 married Dawson, Lydia Larmour born 20 05 1828 died 10 05 1898 married to Moore. Andrew Kernaghan, father Andrew a farmer, was married on 23 02 1849 at Magheragall Presbyterian Church to Nancy (Agnes Mary) Larmour, daughter of Alexander a farmer in the presence of John McKinstry and John Larmour. Andrew Kernaghan senior died in 1865. In the 1901 census at Chapel Hill Lisburn Agnes Kernaghan is listed aged 88 years, married, aunt – residing with Maggie Dawson aged 43 a draper, Agnes Dawson 42, housekeeper and Sarah Murray (nee Dawson) aged 40 a dress and mantle maker. Sarah Dawson, daughter of William, married in 1898 to William John McMurray, son of James. William Dawson resided at Ballymave townland and died in 1901. In his will he mentions his daughters mary, jane and Elizabeth and he mentions his dwelling houses at Chapel Hill, Lisburn. He also mentions his son George, and daughters Jane Begley from Ballycarrickmaddy and Sarah McMurray. Elizabeth Dawson married Robert Bell, son of Robert in 1896. They had a daughter Lily Bell who in 1911 was 12 years and residing with her aunts – Maggie Dawson and Sarah McMurray at Longstone Street, Lisburn. The following is an extract from the Belfast Newsletter dated Friday 16th Sept 1898 and appears with permission of the Belfast Newsletter. Larmour – September 15 at the residence of her sister (Mrs Kernaghan) 19 Chapel Hill, Lisburn, Elizabeth Larmour, aged 83 years. Her remains will be removed for interment in Magheragall Presbyterian Churchyard tomorrow (Saturday) morning at eleven o’clock.

She had been married 32 years. 7 children born and 5 living. She at this time resided with her son William G. McNeight McClenaghan. Elizabeth McNeight from Ballycarrickmaddy, daughter of David McNeight married James McClenaghan a mechanic from Belfast, son of John, at Magheragall Presbyterian Church on 22 04 1867. |

Notes: the following is an extract from the Ulster Star dated 23 01 1960. Obituary. Mr. J.C. Armstrong.Mr. John Chambers Armstrong, "Hillview" Whitemountain, Lisburn who ran one of the biggest quarrying concerns in the Lisburn area died at his home on Monday. He was 74. Mr. Armstrong started the quarry at Whitemountain 55 years ago and his four sons now work in the business. The eldest of a large family, Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Orange and Masonic Orders and a member of Magheragall Presbyterian Church. He is survived by four sons, Messrs Robert David, Richard, John C. and William L. Armstrong, a daughter Mrs James Wadsworth, two brother and eight sisters, one of whom lives in the United states. The funeral took place on Wednesday to Magheragall Presbyterian Churchyard.

Hans Armstrong, born 20 05 1867, was the son of Hans Armstrong. Hans Armstrong, snr., a widower, son of William Armstrong a farmer, married Eliza Jane Morrow, daughter of Robert Morrow on 12 07 1859 at Magheragall Presbyterian Church. Hans Armstrong snr and Eliza Jane Morrow had the following children: Thomas James Armstrong born 1873 who married Ruth Mairs on 04 01 1895. Hans Armstrong born 20 05 1867 and Agnes Armstrong. Agnes was firstly married to William Thompson from Kilcorig and then David Greenfield. The Greenfields are buried at Magheragall Parish Church. William and Agnes Thompson had the following children: Margery born 19 10 1884. David and Agnes Greenfield had the following children: Sarah Jane born 03 05 1891, George born 24 07 1892, Samuel born 04 02 1894 and Agnes born 05 09 1897 died on 22 02 1915. The Greenfields resided at Kilcorig and their home was also a public house. Hans Armstrong snr., had originally been married to Jane Willis on 09 05 1839 at Derriaghy Parish Church. They had a child called Rebecca Armstrong. |

Their daughter Ellen Wallace born 1843 died 1923.
Notes: The Rev. S.E. Brown was installed at Athlone on 18 06 1861 and he resigned on 5 -11-1878 when he accepted a call to Clough. The Brown family resided in the Ballyellough townland in 1911. |
