Crumlin Soldier’s Bar to D.S.O. – Lieut. – Colonel Stanley R. McClintock, D.S.O. Gordon Highlanders, son of Colonel Charles E. McClintock, J.P., Glendaragh, Crumlin was awarded a bar to the D.S.O. for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. While in command of his battalion, this officer, when the enemy had broken through the front, support and reserve lines, took up a defensive position and held up the attack. Later, while in command of the remnants of his battalion, he showed great tenacity in holding on to the last during various stages of the withdrawal.
