A Disputed Will case.
The business was then proceeded with, as disputed will case being taken on immediately after the undefended cases, and occupying the Court for the greater part of the day.
The plaintiff was Samuel Crooks, farmer, Ballyknock, County Down and the defendant Sarah Catherine Ellis (widow of the late Isaac Ellis, of Loughrelish, Ballinderry.)
Mr. T.J. Campbell, Barrister-at-Law (instructed by Messrs S.F. McConnell & Co., solicitors, Lisburn) appeared for the plaintiff; Mr. S.C. Porter, Barrister-at-Law (instructed by Mr. L.E. Meenan, solicitor, Belfast), for Sarah Catherine Ellis; and Mr. G. Ellison, Barrister-at-Law (instructed by Mr. H. Mulholland, solicitor, Lisburn) for Mary Louise and Richard Augustus Ellis.
After evidence, the jury replied in the negative to the allegation of "undue influence," and His Honour gave a decree for probate of the will in favour of the plaintiff.
