The following extract is from the Belfast Evening Telegraph dated Monday 22nd February 1915.
Reid – February 20, 1915, at the First Eastern Hospital, Cambridge, died of wounds, Private Joseph Reid, 1st Battalion Irish Guards, the dearly-beloved husband of Sarah Reid, 121 Argyle Street.
Now the labourer’s task is o’er;
No the battle day is past;
Now upon the farther shore
